Hi beautiful.

God's Plan

God's Plan

I was scrolling through Facebook and IG on Saturday and was pleasantly surprised. I saw all of these posts about Drake’s new music video for his song, God’s Plan. Him having/making the video wasn’t what caught my eye, it was what came along with it. During the process of making this video, he used what he’s been blessed with, to be a blessing to other people. He bought all of the customers’ groceries at the market he was in, bought a couple people a car, gave a pre-dental student a $50,000 scholarship, along with gifting many other people in various ways. Then, he challenged everyone to do something kind for someone else, no matter how big or small the gesture was. Seeing this made my heart smile because it mirrored my actual day on Saturday, his giving was on a much grander level of course (money wise) lol, but y’all get the picture.

The past couple years, my mother has been saying that she wanted us to adopt a family for Christmas. We agreed to do it last Christmas, but for whatever reason, we didn’t make it happen. But, she didn’t let that stop her desire to give to others! Earlier this year, my mother started making blessing bags to give to people who are homeless. One bag is filled with toiletries and the other is a bagged lunch. Each person gets one of each, until they’re all gone, and some even come back for seconds. They also get a brand new t-shirt if they want it. I’ve just been contributing money towards the supplies that she purchases, but last Saturday, I decided to go out and give out the bags with them (my parents). My mother kept changing the time that we would be going🙄 so I got annoyed and said I would just catch them next time... I felt like I was supposed to be there so I kept calling to see what the new time was...she kept being annoying(changing the time lol)...typical Robinson fashion 🤦🏽‍♀️. So after about three separate “I’m not coming because you keep changing the time and I need to work” instances, I just decided to write out some bills (yes, I still mail some of my bills lol) and wait for them because work would still be there later. I decided to use that time to work on my patience because CLEARLY that’s not one of my strongest attributes.

We fiiinnnnnaaaalllllyyyy get to the location after 123 years. Lol ok I’m exaggerating, but, uh yeah.

So we park and open the trunk of my mother’s car. The people literally just started coming out of thin air it seemed. I don’t know if it’s because they’re now familiar with my parents coming every weekend, as well as other people, or they just hope and pray someone will be coming to be a blessing to them. As we passed out the bags and shirts, I noticed something. Even though they’re homeless, for the most part, they all seemed to be in good spirits. One guy asked, “do you guys have any coats in there?” and I felt so bad because we didn’t and because there were some at home that weren’t being used. So my mom was like, “no, I’m sorry not today, we can bring something next time though”. The guy looked a little confused and was like, “oh, I’m not talking about for me, I’m talking about for him”, and points to my dad. So we all look at each other like, “huh?”. Then the guy bursts out laughing like “y’all can’t let him keep walking around wearing that sorry cowboys coat!”😅😂 sir get away! Making me feel all bad thinking you were serious!!! Lol like really!? On a serious note, just to see someone who doesn’t have much at all, just trying to enjoy a good laugh with some people really wowed me. While we were giving bags and stuff out, two more cars pulled up to give out items as well. So one of the guys went to the other cars first and when he came to ours he was like, “bbboooyyyy I really cleaned up today! I came out with nothing and now I got three bags of stuff!!!” 😳🙏🏽🙌🏽 WOW! Just WOW!! That’s a different kind of grateful. Like do you know what it’s like to truly be grateful, like you feel it in the pit of your stomach type of grateful!? He came to that area with NOTHING and God made sure his needs were supplied. Knowing that you were able to help someone just a little is payment enough, but to see reactions like that is such an overwhelming feeling. A lump will literally be right in your throat and your eyes will become like a well!

No matter what you have, ALWAYS be grateful! No matter what you have, ALWAYS be a blessing to others. It doesn’t matter how small or large that blessing is, as long as it comes from a pure place. You never know how you can make someone’s day or situation better, just by being open to give some of what you have. You can start by giving away your surplus of items (you know those things that you don’t have a use for anymore). Then gradually start giving items that are just for other people and not your hand me downs. When you’re grateful and a giver, it opens up more doors of blessings and opportunities because God knows He can trust you with what He places in your hands. At the end do the day, your blessings are never just for you! When you find yourself complaining, stop and apologize for it! Remember there’s always someone who has it worse off than you do, and 9/10 they’re usually happier with less. We have to learn how to be more content with what we have and stop always chasing what’s next. Be blessed and be a blessing, after all, it is God's plan. 🤗
